PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of the World Languages Department is to educate students who are linguistically and culturally prepared to communicate successfully in a pluralistic American society and abroad. - To use the target language effectively both in oral and written work.
- To comprehend spoken and written language.
- To develop an appreciation and greater understanding of the cultures of other countries.
- To acquire insight into a variety of ways of viewing the world.
- To acquire the ability to communicate in meaningful and appropriate ways with users of other languages.
