Apostolic Ministry

Each year, Holy Family students are asked to deepen their understanding of the role of Christian service through the Apostolic Ministry Service Hours program. This program is designed to include all areas of life from the home to the broader community. Fulfillment of service hours is mandatory for graduation.

Apostolic Ministry projects vary from year to year and have specific requirements and due dates. Service experiences include working within one’s family, school, parish or church, and non-profit organizations that work with those in need.

Service hours are documented using verification sheets. Questions regarding an organization may be directed to the student’s Theology teacher or the Campus Ministry office.

Service Hours Verification Cards must be signed by the supervisor of the organization or parish and turned in to the student's Theology teacher.

50% of the Apostolic Ministry Service Hours must be completed during the fall semester, and the remainder in the spring semester. Only five total service hours each school year can be performed on the Holy Family High School campus. The remaining hours can be completed at an approved charitable organization or your home parish or church. Freshmen have the option to serve at home within their families.

Service Requirements:

Freshmen: 10 hours
Sophomores: 15 hours
Juniors: 20 hours
Seniors: 25 hours (Seniors are asked to write a reflection paper on their experience of service over their years at Holy Family)
